The Inspiration Behind Pondy Nautic

It all started while looking over the vast expanse of the beautiful sea flowing along the coast of Pondicherry. It got us wondering if some sails and nice boats dotted on the horizon would look good on it.....moreover it can be fun!With this inspiration behind, we set forward to make this idea come true. With the first drawing on the paper to the woodwork, from groundwork to works on the water, little by little we saw the idea come alive.We decided to embrace the different kinds of pleasure that one can feel while sailing and to create programmes that can cover the full array of possibilities through it.As  sailors we have had great experiences and sometimes not so. Hence we are aware of what it takes to have to get the best of   the sea exploration and share it with you.Above all we are sure that sailing on the seas of Pondicherry, exploring its beauty and vastness would be a wonderful getaway. This is what Pondy Nautic is all about.

Nath's Story

Nathanaël Mallard or Nath (as he is popularly known) has Sea in his blood. His story starts 30 odd years ago when Nath's family decided to realise their lifelong dream of sailing around the world. They build their own boat from scratch for 8 years.  With continuous hardwork over weekends, over holidays and every free opportunities, Nath's family (mother, father , Nath and his younger brother) finally set sail in 1992. For the next 6 years, this Boat would be their home and this is how Nath learnt the language of wood and the sea.

               It was also through this experience that his foundation of sailing & fishing was set. Navigation and exploration came naturally to him. Education came through home schooling and at Harbour cities thereby gathering rich cultural experiences and friends from Europe, Africa, Middle East, South East Asia and so on.

When he was 15, the family landed in India and fell in love with this country. Since then they have called it home.

The family started a renowned boat building company at Pondicherry which at present is headed by him.

But the sea always beckons a true sailor. The call of the sea for its explorations & novel discoveries emerged into the creation of "PONDY NAUTIC"

Through Pondy Nautic, Nath aims:
