Nathanaël Mallard or Nath (as he is
popularly known) has Sea in his blood. His story starts 30 odd years ago when
Nath's family decided to realise their lifelong dream of sailing around the
world. They build their own boat from scratch for 8 years. With continuous
hardwork over weekends, over holidays and every free opportunities, Nath's
family (mother, father , Nath and his younger brother) finally set sail in 1992. For the next 6 years, this Boat would be their home and this
is how Nath learnt the language of wood and the sea.
It was also through this experience that his
foundation of sailing & fishing was set. Navigation and exploration came
naturally to him. Education came through home schooling and at Harbour cities
thereby gathering rich cultural experiences and friends from Europe, Africa,
Middle East, South East Asia and so on.
When he was 15, the
family landed in India and fell in love with this country. Since then they have
called it home.
The family started a
renowned boat building company at Pondicherry which at present is headed by
him.
But the sea always
beckons a true sailor. The call of the sea for its explorations & novel
discoveries emerged into the creation of "PONDY NAUTIC"
